The Law of God – How do we know that what we believe about the Sabbath is correct?
People with different perspectives argue about this: is the Sabbath day a Saturday or Sunday?
The History of the Sabbath

Long before Sunday was ever called the Sabbath, the book of Genesis tells us that God had already blessed the seventh day—Saturday; this is the Sabbath day, ordained by God after He had finished the work of creation.
So how did Sunday later come to be known as Sabbath to the vast majority of people? Leviticus 3:3 says, “Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a
holy convocation. You shall do no work. It is a Sabbath to the Lord in all your dwelling places.”
The day was changed because of an historic event that occurred during the reign of the Roman Emperor, Constantine the Great, when it is alleged he converted to Christianity. At that time, the pagans worshipped the sun god on Sunday, the “venerable day of the sun”. Constantine, who aspired to promote harmony among his people, appease the pagans and attempt to convert them to Christianity, proclaimed Sunday to be the day of rest. Thus the shift from Saturday to Sunday had begun.
The Truth about Sabbath is Important

Beliefs shape our faith. God makes things clear in His Word, the Bible. The day of worship has never changed; it is humankind who caused the change. Getting back to what is right is what matters most.
God never wanted us to walk with our eyes closed. He desires for us to seek His truth and adhere to it. People may laugh at those who believe that Saturday is the Sabbath because it has long been adapted and accepted as Sunday. The truth may seem inconvenient, but it is the will of the Lord.
Sometimes, what we are used to is not necessarily how it should be. God wants us to take a leap of faith, find the truth, believe and then live it.
